Dear Aspirants of SPSC SST SST BPS16 IBA multi-job, Computer is very necessary for all job tests, as per my previous test experience, i will update some chapters/topics that have higher chances to appear in IBA tests, so following chapter is also important, read it carefully and then solve following MCQs test.
What is Browser ?
A Browser is a software that helps us to access any website/web address or URL.
What is URL / Web address ?
URL = Uniform Resource Locator is the actual address of any website. This *www.google.com* is URL or web address, through this address we can access the server of Google to get services from it.
What is server ?
Server is a computer that provide services to other computers. Lets suppose, iam withdrawing an amount from ATM machine, before cash withdrawal, ATM machine will access National bank server to confirm available balance in my account.
What is Client ?
A Computer that receive services is client. Lets support iam accessing google.com. It will provide us help me to search content on internet. We will call server. My computer that receives services from google.com is client computer.
What is social media ?
As we have 3 mediums of information sharing. Electronic media (television), print media (Newspapers) & social media( Facebook, twitter, instagram, whatsapp, youtube & etcetera. Advantage of social media is that everyone may share what is in their minds while electronic and print media have journalists through them a news may be shared.
What is Search engine ?
Search engine is a website that helps us searching content on internet. Lets suppose i need sindhi MCQs and i don't have any particular URL or site for it. Then i will search it on google.com (a search engine). It will then show different links where there will be sindhi MCQs available. yahoo.com and bing.com are also search engines.
What is encryption ?
Hiding information from common people, and make it readable for desired person to whom we are sending it is encryption. Lets suppose, I meet with one of friend face to face first and then ask him/her to forward three letters while reading my letter. For example i am writing him/her 'ebiip', if we forward 3 letters, e will be h, b will be e, so through this we will come to know that my friend has sent me hello in her/his letter. In past kings would use these tricks to save the messages from the postman / or the person by whom they were sending letters to the other kings. Now days its used in networking to secure the data from hackers.
What is Artificial intelligence?
Making computers able to make decisions & showing some intelligence like diagnosis of diseases, voice recognition & face detection are its examples. As we human learn from past experience and conclude some results on its basis. So, its being tried that computers may learn from their past and conclude some results.
What is Simulation ?
To provide real-like imaginary scenery for learners through Computer is Simulation. Lets suppose Piloting is not like learning bicycle in our childhood. Where we drop & regain ourselves to ride bicycle again. In piloting, a person will sit in a room where he/she will have be screen from all sides to make him/her feel that he/she is in airplane. So, before flying in air, he/she gets training in an imaginary environment.
Types of Application software:
Desktop publishing (DTP) software is designed for creating visual communications advertisements: i-e: brochures, business cards, greeting cards. Softwares used for this are Adobe photoshop, coreldraw & others.
Others application softwares include Spreadsheet (Ms Excel), having row & columns used for calculations. Database (Oracle) used for saving data in large amount. Word processor (Ms Word) used for documentation & writing official letters. Presentation softwares (Powerpoint presentation) used for delivering lectures.
